  1. What is the Sigma-Aldrich New Lab Start-Up Program?
    The Sigma-Aldrich New Lab Start-Up Program is a customer support program that helps you get your new lab set up in an easy and economical way.

  2. What does the program offer?
    • Choose from over 200,000 quality life science and chemical products
    • Receive savings of up to 88% for six full months
    • No minimum order values
    • No maximum number of orders
    • Additional 5% savings on orders of $1,000-$2,500 and 10% savings on orders of $2,500 or more
    • Free freight – all orders over $300 receive free standard 2nd day delivery*
      *$3 fuel surcharge applies to all orders. Additional fees for premium delivery or truck shipments. Default shipping method is UPS ground. If 2nd day or other delivery required, please request or select your shipping method preference when placing your order.

    You are eligible for the program if you:
    • Are starting a new lab
    • Are moving to a new location
    • Have received your first research grant
       
  4. What products are available at special New Lab Start-Up pricing?

    When you have registered for the program and your New Lab Start-Up contract is set up, you will be able to view the New Lab Start-Up pricing online and compare it with our list price for detailed savings information. Log in at www.sigma-aldrich.com with your user name and password. If you don't have a Web account yet, register at www.sigma-aldrich.com/register.

    If you place your orders through an E-procurement system, such as SciQuest, Ariba, SAP, Perfect Commerce, and Oracle, you are most likely not eligible to use the public Sigma-Aldrich Web site for ordering.   5. How long can I take advantage of the New Lab Start-Up Program?
    You will receive product savings and special shipping for six full months. Take full advantage of the six-month program period by specifying the date when you expect to place your first order when registering. 

  6. How can I register for the New Lab Start-Up Program?
    To sign up for the New Lab Start-Up Program, please fill out the online registration form. All fields with a * are required. To ensure a smooth registration process:
    • Enter the full name of your institution, do not use abbreviations.
    • Make sure to provide us with your shipping address and not your billing address. Please include street, building and room number.
    • Provide us with the exact date when you will be ready to order. Once set up, your contract cannot be extended.
    • If possible, please provide us with your Sigma-Aldrich account number.

    When we have validated your information, you will receive a contract number that must be referenced when placing orders.

  7. How long does the registration process take?
    If you are an existing Sigma-Aldrich customer, please allow one business day to process your request and to update your profile with your New Lab Start-Up pricing. You will receive your contract number and ordering instructions by email.

    If you are a new Sigma-Aldrich customer, we are required to conduct a screening review prior to setting up your profile. A Sigma-Aldrich representative will contact you and let you know what documents are required for the screening review. The sooner we receive those documents, the sooner we can process your New Lab Start-Up request.

  8. I have received my contract number but my new lab start-up date was delayed and I won't be able to place orders until next month or later. Can my contract start date be delayed so that I can take advantage of the full six months?
    Yes, if you haven't placed any orders yet. Please contact us at newlab@sial.com and provide us with the date you will be ready to order. We will put your contract on hold and reactivate it on the date you provided.

  9. I have received the email with my contract number, ordering instructions and my user name, but the email did not contain my password.
    The password is only provided if a new Web account was set up. If you forgot your password, you can request it here or contact webhelp@sial.com.

  10. How can I place an order and receive the New Lab Start-Up pricing and shipping?
    When the registration process is completed, you will receive an email with your New Lab Start-Up contract number and ordering instructions (Subject line: Your New Lab Start-Up Program Features).

    There are three ways to place an order:
    a. Phone/fax – When ordering via phone or fax, you need to reference your contract number in order to receive the New Lab Start-Up pricing, additional discounts for increased order value or free freight.
    b. Online – Once your New Lab Start-Up contract is set up, the New Lab Start-Up pricing is associated with your Web profile. When placing an order online, you automatically receive the New Lab Start-Up pricing and don't need to reference your contract number.
    c. E-procurement platforms – If you place your orders through an E-procurement system, such as SciQuest, Ariba, SAP, Perfect Commerce, and Oracle, you are most likely not eligible to use the public Sigma-Aldrich Web site.
    Some E-procurement systems allow users to enter notes (e.g. promotion codes, contract numbers) into a Comments field. If you are not able to reference your contract number when placing orders through your E-procurement system, you need to place your New Lab Start-Up orders by phone or fax and reference your contract number in order to receive the New Lab Start-Up pricing, additional discounts for increased order value or free freight.

  11. What additional savings are available?
    You will receive an additional 5% off single orders between $1,000 and $2,500 and 10% off single orders of $2,500 or more.

    All orders over $300 receive free standard 2nd day delivery.
    Please note: A $3 fuel surcharge applies to all orders. Additional fees for premium delivery or truck shipments apply. The default shipping method is UPS ground. If 2nd day or other delivery is required, please request or select your shipping method preference when placing your order.

  12. I can't see the additional savings on my online order, order confirmation or invoice.
    Additional savings are not explicitly displayed on online orders, order confirmations or invoices.

    Your additional savings of 5% (10%) are automatically applied and the item prices recalculated when you reach a single order value of $1,000 ($2,500).

    Free shipping is automatically applied for all single orders over $300. The default shipping method is UPS ground. If 2nd day or other delivery is required, please select UPS Second Day or your preferred shipping method before submitting your order.

  13. My contract has expired. Can you renew or extend my contract?
    No. New Lab Start-Up contracts are valid for six full months and cannot be extended. It is therefore crucial that you indicate the date when you will be ready to order when you fill out the online registration form.
