Analysis Note Identification and quantitation of individual fatty acid isomers in complex mixtures of isomers is desirable for both food and clinical scientists. This application requires the fatty acids to be converted to fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs), followed by analysis using a long, efficient GC column with a stationary phase highly selective for polarizable analytes (those with double and/or triple C-C bonds). A 200 m SLB-IL111 is such a column.
