Sample preparation:
Mix about 100 mg of very finely powdered material with 1.5 g of di-sodium tetraborate in a platinum crucible and heated at 900 °C for 30 minutes in the muffle furnace. After cooling, dissolve the content of the crucible in an uncovered glass beaker with 2 ml of hydrochloric acid 37 % and 50 ml water for analysis. When fully dissolved fill up to volume in a 1000-ml volumetric flask with water for analysis and mix well.
 
Analysis:
Determine with the above mentioned test kits.
 
Calculation:

Aluminium (total) content in %  =   analysis value in mg/l Al x 100
weight of sample in mg
