Sample preparation:
Ground the plant material finely and pass through a sieve (mesh 0.4 - 0.7 mm) and dry the material at 105 °C for 3 hours.
Add 1.0 g of the dried material to a mixture of 1.5 ml nitric acid 65 %, 0.5 ml perchloric acid 70 %, 1 ml sulfuric acid 95 - 97 % and heat until white fumes are envolved (fume cupboard!). Dissolve the residue, after cooling, in water for analysis and fill up to the mark in a 100-ml standard volumetric flask and mix well.
Determine with the above mentioned test kits.
