RNAconcentrator™ Protocol - protects and concentrates small volume RNA samples

Product Description

RNAconcentrator protects RNA samples from degradation, enabling the concentration of dilute, aqueous RNA samples to small volumes at room temperature without sample loss. Each tube contains RNAconcentrator as a coating at the bottom of the tube that protects picogram amounts of concentrated purified RNA. The medium is completely dissolvable and ensures total recovery of starting material as compared to other methods.

Storage/Stability

Prior to use, tubes must be stored inside intact original packaging (a heat-sealed moisture barrier bag including desiccant packet) or in a desiccating cabinet, if available, at room temperature. Use within 6 months of purchase date for optimal product performance.

Once samples are concentrated in RNAconcentrator, they can be stored for up to 1 week inside a sealed moisture-barrier foil bag along with two fresh desiccant packets.

Procedure

Concentrate Dry at Room Temperature
1. Open cap on tube.
2. Add up to 500 μl [10 pg to 50 μg] of RNA sample directly into each tube.
3. Dry samples in SpeedVac® without heat.

4. Once dried, samples can be rehydrated in buffer or water and are ready forbimmediate use without further purification. Samples can also be stored for up to 1 week inside a sealed moisture-barrier foil bag along with two desiccant packets. (Note: To protect the integrity of enclosed desiccant packets, open the heat-sealed silver foil bags immediately prior to use.)

Sample Recovery: Just Add Water
1. Add ³10 μl of water or buffer into tube.
2. Hydrate for 15 min at room temperature.
3. Pipette gently to ensure complete mixing.

Samples can be used directly in downstream applications:

  • Quantitative RT-PCR (e.g. TaqMan®, SYBRGreen®)
  • Quantitation analysis (e.g. Qubit™ platform, Ribogreen®)
  • Bioanalyzer and microarray analysis
  • Reverse transcription
  • cDNA synthesis
  • Gel analysis
