Changes to Merck Life Science, and Sigma-Aldrich Legal Entities: Impacts on Web Shop and Ordering

Since July 1, 2021, the commercial business of Merck Life Science in Belgium has been restructured. The business previously operated by two legal entities, Merck Chemicals NV/SA and Sigma-Aldrich BV was consolidated into Sigma-Aldrich BV, which at the same time was renamed to Merck Life Science BV.

As a customer, you will benefit from this development by having one partnerfor the whole Merck Life Science portfolio.

Due to the consolidation of the commercial business there have been changes to some of our contact and ordering details.

eCommerce Updates

Coinciding with the business consolidation, changes occurred to our websites and online ordering routes.

Following the commercial business consolidation, all Merck Life Science eCommerce is conducted through www.sigmaaldrich.com. The www.merckmillipore.com website is still available as an informational site providing access to product information, safety and quality documents, including Emprove^® dossiers, until everything is fully accessible directly through sigmaaldrich.com.

The sigmaaldrich.com website displays real-time, customer-specific pricing for all products, including products previously ordered via merckmillipore.com.

As part of the transition, web credentials (login and/or password) may have changed for some users:

• If you already placed orders via sigmaaldrich.com, you can continue to use your sigmaaldrich.com login details and password without change.
• If you only placed orders via merckmillipore.com, you can use the same login details (usually your email address) on sigmaaldrich.com but you will need to update your password as we cannot migrate the encrypted password from one site to the other.

Effect on Merck Electronics, former Performance MaterialsBusiness,in Belgium

Please note, that Merck Chemicals NV/SA will continue to serve customers for Electronics, former Performance Materials business in Belgium as usual, despite the consolidation of Merck Chemicals NV/SA and Sigma-Aldrich BV into Merck Life Science BV. De samensmelting van de handelsactiviteiten ging gepaard met een nieuwe website en wijzigingen aan de online bestelkanalen..

Na de fusie van de rechtspersonen werd alle e-commerce van Merck Life Science overgeheveld naar www.sigmaaldrich.com. De website www.merckmillipore.com blijft behouden als informatieve website waar u toegang krijgt tot productinformatie, documenten over veiligheid en kwaliteit, zoals Emprove^®-dossiers, totdat al die informatie rechtstreeks beschikbaar is via sigmaaldrich.com.

De website sigmaaldrich.com bevat voor alle producten klantspecifieke prijsinformatie in realtime, ook voor producten die in het verleden werden besteld via merckmillipore.com.

Als gevolg van de overgang zijn de inloggegevens (gebruikersnaam en/of wachtwoord) van sommige gebruikers gewijzigd:

• Plaatste u al bestellingen via sigmaaldrich.com, dan kunt u uw inloggegevens en wachtwoord van sigmaaldrich.com gewoon blijven gebruiken. Er verandert niets.
• Als u enkel bestellingen plaatste via merckmillipore.com, kunt u dezelfde gebruikersnaam (meestal uw e-mailadres)blijven gebruiken op sigmaaldrich.com, maar u zult uw wachtwoord moeten bijwerken aangezien we de versleutelde wachtwoorden niet kunnen overdragen van de ene site naar de andere.
