Nafion^™ 117 solution can be used in the formation of nafion membranes with properties like good water uptake (~27%) and ionic conductivity (~1.23 × 10⁻² Ω⁻¹ cm⁻¹). Its current density at 600V for the polymer electrolyte fuel cells is ~640 mA cm⁻².
