Derived from a mouse basophil clone and is dependent on Interleukin-3 (IL-3) for growth. IL-3 may be added in the form of Wehi conditioned media (10-20%). Culture densities between 10,000 and 100,000 cells/ml is necessary to retain cells in exponential growth phase.

RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

Rotina de subcultura

Maintain cultures between 10,000 to 100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C. Cells will rapidly die at high densities above 5x100,000 cells/ml. Culture very sensitive to agitation.
