Descrição geral

Gelatin derived from cold water fish skin has low gelling and melting points.[1] This gelatin will not gel at 10 degree celsius, hence they do not have bloom strength.[2]

Aplicação

Usado como agente bloqueador em imunoquímica.
Gelatin from cold water fish skin has been used in the preparation of water phase.[3] It has also been used to maintain growth in static culture[4][5] and in flavopiridol treatment and transcript labeling.[6]

Ações bioquímicas/fisiológicas

Gelatin from fish skin can be used in the preparation of various gels based on their gelling characteristics. It can also be used as an additive in surimi processing to enhance the functional and mechanical properties of gel.[7]

The extracellular matrix (ECM) and its attachment factor components are discussed in this article in relation to their function in structural biology and their availability for in vitro applications.

The extracellular matrix (ECM) is secreted by cells and surrounds them in tissues.

Questions

1–10 of 15 Questions
  1. Could you clarify the specific type of your Cold Water Fish Skin Gelatin? Is it Type A or Type B?

    1 answer
    1. This product is a type A gelatin extracted from acid-cured tissue.

      Helpful?

  2. Hi, could you please let me know the fish species or the Amino Acid sequence of the gelatin? Thanks!

    1 answer
    1. Unfortunately, the source species of cold-water fish for this product is not available. No sequence information is available either.

      Helpful?

  3. What is the melting point of this specific fish gelatin?

    1 answer
    1. Dry gelatin, when heated to 100 °C in the presence of air, swells and becomes soft, disintegrating to a carbonaceous mass. Solidified solutions may be reliquified at 37°C. Solutions of gelatin will undergo hydrolysis when heated above 40 °C for extended periods. Please see the link below to review additional information available in the Product Datasheet:_x000D_

  4. What fish species is this gelatin product derived from? Thanks.

    1 answer
    1. This gelatin product is produced from multiple cold water fish species. These include, but are not limited to, cod, pollock, and haddock.

      Helpful?

  5. Is product G7041 acid pretreated or alkali pretreated?

    1 answer
    1. This product is extracted from acid-cured tissue.

      Helpful?

  6. Is this in solid powder form? Also, is it suitable to be used to form a hydrogel film?

    1 answer
    1. Yes, this product is supplied in solid powder form. Gelatin, in general, can be used to form a hydrogel film, but this product has not been tested for that application.

      Helpful?

  7. What is the molecular weight of this Gelatin?

What is the molecular weight of this Gelatin?

    1 answer
    1. The molecular weight of this product has not been evaluated, However, the molecular weight is closely related to the Bloom Number. The estimated ranges are as follows:
Bloom Number Average Molecular Mass (Da)
      50−125 (Low Bloom) 20,000−25,000
      175−225 (Medium Bloom) 40,000−50,000
      225−325 (High Bloom) 50,000−100,000

World's finest gelatin from cold water fish skin

This is quite possibly the most exquisite gelatin from cold water fish skin I have ever used. Upon opening the bottle, I could tell just by the sheen on the slightly granular crystals that this gelatin from cold water fish skin was unlike any I had ever encountered.

    using it to coat plates

The product is good enough, however it would be great if it came from one species instead of a mix of different many ones
