O soro AB humano é usado em aplicações de engenharia de tecidos, transplante e terapia celular para expansão de células-tronco mesenquimais (MSC) de tecido adiposo ou células estromais mesenquimais de medula óssea humana; para produção e transplante de enxertos de célula-tronco epiteliais límbicas padronizadas; para expansão ex vivo de células NK de sangue periférico em meio de expansão de células-tronco hematopoiéticas; e para aprimoramento de tecnologia de cultura de ilhotas humanas pré-transplante.
O soro humano foi usado: como um componente de solução salina tamponada com fosfato e detergente Tween® (PBST) no ensaio de imunoabsorção enzimática (ELISA), como uma amostra biológica simulada para avaliar o desempenho do ensaio ELISA em papel com amostras biológicas complexas, como um diluente para criar uma série de diluições da amostra de linha de base para a geração da curva padrão para NISTmAb adicionado ao soro, bem como para a amostra do paciente com mieloma múltiplo (MM) MM2232

O soro humano AB é tipicamente obtido ao permitir que o sangue total coagule naturalmente, o que é conhecido como soro fora do coágulo (OTC). O soro humano obtido a partir do sangue total coagulado é preferível, pois geralmente contém níveis mais altos e uma gama mais diversificada de fatores de crescimento para o crescimento celular ideal. O soro humano de doadores do tipo sanguíneo AB carece de anticorpos específicos para os antígenos dos tipos sanguíneos A e B. Isso o torna um soro doador universal, adequado para vários tipos de cultura de células, incluindo linhas de células-tronco humanas.

Is this product obtained from healthy individuals? I noted that each donor unit used in the preparation was tested and found negative for HBsAG, HIV and etc. However, does each donor was tested for any underlying diseases like Diabetes and medically fit?

Is this serum contain Uric acid? If yes how much, or how to check it?. If the serum is expired, is it okay to use?

While uric acid is present in human serum, this product is not tested for uric acid levels. Should uric acid measurement is required, see product MAK483, Uric Acid Assay Kit, which is suitable for the determination of Uric acid in serum. It is not recommended to use products that are beyond the assigned expiration date.

Once the product has been thawed, how should it be stored? How many times can be freezed and thawed?

Each donor is tested for and found non-reactive to Hepatitis B & C and non-reactive to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) antibody by ELISA. HSV is not on the list of agents that are tested. Nevertheless, products of human origin should be considered potentially infectious and handled accordingly. If this is "serum" derived from "plasma" the plasma would have contained anti-coagulant. To turn the plasma into serum it has to be clotted. Has this product been clotted to remove the fibrin? Or is it still in fact plasma?

The product has been clotted. Blood is collected and treated with citrate (anticoagulant) which inhibits clotting initially. The blood is then centrifuged. When the spin is complete, layers will appear which allow a differentiation between the cells and the plasma. The plasma is removed and calcium is added to activate the clotting cascade. The preparation is then centrifuged again and the result is a large clot which is pelleted to the bottom of the tube with a serum layer on top.

The use of human serum for a nucleic acid stability assay has not been performed as it is not part of our lab's product characterization focus.
