Developing LNP formulations can be both time-consuming and expensive. Participants will explore the critical role of ionizable lipids in LNP formulations and gain insights into our capabilities for customized LNP formulation development for novel therapeutic modalities. The session will cover essential topics, including screening, optimization, analytical characterization, in vivo testing, and scale-up strategies for LNPs. This comprehensive approach emphasizes the significance of LNPs in advancing therapeutic modalities and improving patient lives.
In this webinar, you will discover and learn about:
- demonstrated efficacy of multiple lipid libraries through case studies in the preclinical phase
- the impact of screening versatile libraries containing carefully selected lipids for various applications, payloads and target tissues
- the benefits of flexible manufacturing approaches for LNP formulation scale-up
Speaker

Johanna Simon, Ph.D.
MilliporeSigma
Principial Scientist
Johanna Simon, Ph.D., is heading the formulation discovery and analytical characterization team within the early formulation screening service at MilliporeSigma. Her work focuses on the preclinical formulation development of custom lipid nanoparticles for nucleic acid modalities. After receiving her Ph.D. in chemistry, Johanna has continued her scientific career as a postdoctoral researcher with a focus on developing lipid-, polymer- and antibody-functionalized nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery in vivo. Johanna has authored 50-plus peer-reviewed articles in leading journals in the field of drug delivery sciences.

Sara Nogueira, Ph.D.
MilliporeSigma
Head of Innovation mRNA Delivery
Sara is the head of innovation mRNA delivery in mRNA services at MilliporeSigma. She leads the development of new ionizable lipid libraries for mRNA delivery. Previously, she conducted her doctoral studies in the RNA formulation group at BioNTech, where she focused on revealing structural-function correlations and designing novel lipid nanoparticles for mRNA delivery. Sara holds a Ph.D. in pharmacy from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and an M.Sc. in biophysics and bionanosystems from the University of Minho, Portugal.
