Questions

1–3 of 3 Questions
  1. Does this model have a 10 kDa membrane?

    1 answer
    1. The 10 kDa membrane suitable for this stirred cell is PLGC07610.

      Helpful?

  2. Could you please provide more information about the troubleshooting for a stirred cell that is not holding pressure and has poor concentrate recovery?

    1 answer
    1. On September 7, 2021, the Eyre User Guide provided troubleshooting information on pages 8 and 9. It addressed the symptom of a stirred cell not holding pressure and poor concentrate recovery. The cause identified was a membrane that was not sealed, leading to sample bypass around the membrane. The corrective action recommended was to ensure that the O-ring is free of dirt or debris and undamaged.

      Helpful?

  3. What is the minimum volume that can be concentrated using stirred cells? Additionally, what is the minimum volume that can be recovered from the stirred cell?

    1 answer
    1. The stirred cells do not have a specified minimum concentrate volume, as this is typically dependent on the sample. According to the user guide, the minimum concentrate volume must be determined empirically by the user based on sample composition and stirring speed.

In theory, it is possible to concentrate to dryness; however, this is highly dependent on the sample and membrane used.

Additionally, the specification chart includes a hold-up volume, which indicates the volume of sample that is 'lost' to the device. For detailed hold-up volume information, please refer to page 10 of the user guide.
