Die Mischung aus Phenol − Chloroform − Isoamylalkohol wird bei der Nukleinsäureextraktion aus Gallenganggewebe, Drosophila-, Chromatin- und RNA-Immunpräzipitation bei Caenorhabditis elegans und mitochondrialer DNA eingesetzt.
