What Does it Cover?

Duolink® proximity ligation assay (PLA) technology allows you to visualize protein interactions with cellular localization and quantities by amplifying signals corresponding to single and post-translational protein events. With 1000x sensitivity and high specificity, this protein detection technology allows to visualize protein functions, all within a native cell. The PLA method provides:

  • Visual protein interactions
    − Both stable and transient
  • Endogenous protein detection
    − No overexpression or genetic manipulation
  • High specificity
    − Use of two antibodies/probes eliminates false positives
  • Single molecule sensitivity
    − Rolling circle amplification makes proteins visible

Claudia earned her BS in Biology from the University of Juiz de Fora, Brazil, and her MS in Physiology from the University of Sao Paulo. She received her Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of São Paulo, with a scholarship for 6 month at the Weizmann Institute, Israel. Following completion of her Ph.D., she joined Merck as a Field Application Scientist for Biology Portfolio focusing on the Latin America Region.

Paola earned her Bachelor degree in Biologic Science with Medical modality from Metodista University and her Master in Administration and Maketing from FAAP. She joined Merck in 2006 as Technical Advisor for Bioscience portfolio and had transitioned to different roles, always focused on Life Science business. In her present position she works as Application Specialist of Biology portfolio.
