Application

Un reactivo excelente para el mantenimiento de los grupos SH en estado reducido; reduce cuantitativamente los disulfuros. El DTT reduce de manera eficaz los enlaces disulfuro de las proteínas en tampones de muestra antes de la SDS-PAGE. El DTT puede utilizarse también para reducir el puente disulfuro del reticulante N,N′-bis(acriloil)cistamina con el fin de separar la matriz de un gel de poliacrilamida. El DTT es menos mordaz y menos tóxico que el 2-mercaptoetanol. Normalmente se requiere una concentración de DTT siete veces inferior (100 mM) a la concentración utilizada del 2-mercaptoetanol (5 % v/v, 700 mM).

DTT is an excellent reagent chemical used to reduce disulfide bonds commonly found in bioprocessing. DTT is used in buffer formulations to maintain and stabilize free -SH in applications such as protein based biotherapeutics and enzyme stability.
