- Für die Herstellung von Trifluoressigsäure-d durch Reaktion mit Trifluoressigsäureanhydrid.
- Als Deuterierungsmittel für primäre und sekundäre Alkohole an der β-Kohlenstoff-Position durch H/D-Austauschreaktion in Gegenwart eines Ruthenium-Katalysators.
- Zusammen mit Hexamethyldisilan als Deuterium-Transferreagenz für Alkine zur Bildung von (E)-1,2-Dideuterioalkenen in Gegenwart eines Palladiumkomplexes.

How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. I don't have the ability to store Product 151882, Deuterium oxide, under nitrogen to prevent H2O uptake. Is there another way that I can work with D20 in order to preserve its purity?

You may be interested in our ampulized deuterium oxide products: 521965 (10x0.6mL), 441376 (10x0.75mL) or 269794 (10x1mL). These products are ideal for one time use applications, like as an NMR solvent, because there is decreased chance of water uptake during storage.

According to our MSDS, deuterium oxide is classified as hygroscopic and should be stored under an inert gas like nitrogen, to prevent hydrogenated water uptake.
