General description

Phenol Red Sodium Salt (PRSS) is a water-soluble anionic fluorescent dye, that possesses an extra Na ion attached with the SO3 group compared to phenol red. It is mostly used as a pH marker for cell tissue culture. PRSS plays a role as an indicator in the process of dying cells or overgrowth of cells in different medium.
