Insulin solution human has been used for insulin tolerance test in mice and rats.[1] It has also been used for adipogenic differentiation of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs)-derived outgrowth cultures and hMSCs (human mesenchymal stromal cells).[2]

This product is formulated at a neutral to slightly alkaline pH using a HEPES buffer (pH 7.9–8.5) to enhance long-term stability and solubility during storage. This approach differs from some vendors who use a low pH formulation for immediate solubilization.

This product is recommended to be stored at 2-8°C. For research applications, freezing insulin solution is a common practice. However, solutions available on the commercial market for therapeutic use are not frozen to maintain maximum activity. No stability studies have been performed on the shelf life of frozen insulin solutions.
