It can also be chemically synthesized. Folate, a watersoluble vitamin, helps the body form red blood cells and aids in the formation of genetic material within every body cell.

Application

Folic acid may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in vitamin-fortified fruit juices using reversed-phase ion-pair high-performance liquid chromatography.[1]
