Application

This USP reference standard is intended for use in specified quality tests and assays.
Also used to prepare standard and system suitability solutions for identification, assay, and strength analysis using thin-layer chromatography and LC-UV according to the following United States Pharmacopeia (USP) monographs:
  • Arginine
  • Arginine Tablets
  • Arginine Capsules
  • Aztreonam for Injection
  • Ceftazidime for Injection
  • Aztreonam Injection

Biochem/physiol Actions

Substrate of nitric oxide synthase, which is converted to citrulline and nitric oxide (NO). Induces insulin release by a nitric oxide-dependent mechanism.
