Phosphatidic acid synthesis from phosphatidylcholine is mediated by phospholipase D.

Aplicación

06:0 PA may be used in liposome flotation assay to study its interactions between purified dynamin-related protein 1 (Drp1). It may also be used to study its effect in coat protein I (COPI) vesicle fission and transport. It has been used in the preparation of the ubiquitin specific peptidase 1- mitochondrial distribution and morphology protein 35 (Ups1–Mdm35)– phosphatidic acid (PA) complex for crystallization studies.

Acciones bioquímicas o fisiológicas

Phosphatidic acid might serve as a modulator of phagocyte respiratory burst. It also acts as a precursor of diacylglycerol and lysophosphatidic acid.
