Application

Bilirubin Conjugate, Ditaurate, Disodium Salt – Calbiochem has been used as a standard for testing the interference of conjugated bilirubin in assays aimed at quantifying analytes in serum or plasma samples.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Bilirubin is a heme degradation product. It exists in conjugated and unconjugated forms. Unconjugated forms of bilirubin are primarily bound to serum albumin and transported to the liver and conjugated forms are excreted with the bile. It serves as a biomarker for jaundice and liver malfunction. At lower levels bilirubin exhibits anti-oxidative property, but at very higher levels it may cause bilirubin-induced neurological damage (BIND).

Packaging

Packaged under inert gas
