Le palladium sur charbon (Pd/C) (charge de 10 % en poids, support matriciel de charbon actif) peut être employé pour catalyser les réactions bien connues suivantes : hydrogénation d'alcènes, d'alcynes, de cétones, de nitriles, d'imines, d'azotures, de groupements nitro, de composés aromatiques hétérocycliques et benzénoïdes ; hydrogénolyse de cyclopropanes, de dérivés benzylés, d'époxydes, d'hydrazines et d'halogénures ; déshydrogénation de composés aromatiques et déformylation d'aldéhydes.
Il peut aussi être utilisé :

  • comme catalyseur de l'hydrodéchloration du dichlorodifluorométhane (CCl2F2), un gaz à effet de serre reconnu.
  • comme catalyseur de réactions de Heck sur des halogénures d'aryle dans des liquides ioniques.
  • comme catalyseur anodique pour la fabrication de piles à acide formique direct (DFAFC).
  • comme électrocatalyseur économique pour l'oxydation du méthanol.
  • dans l'hydrogénation catalytique d'hydrures chimiques pour la production d'hydrogène.
  • comme catalyseur dans la réaction de Suzuki-Mayaura.

    1. The solubility of this product has not been determined. However, in certain reactions, such as hydrogenation, ethanol is typically utilized. Note that palladium on carbon (Pd/C) is a heterogeneous catalyst that is insoluble in water and many common organic solvents.

  3. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.     1. Unfortunately, based on the specification sheet for Product 205699, a specification for the particle distribution range is not tested. This information is unavailable.

    1. This product is an M-Clarity level 200 item. The method of preparation is considered proprietary for Products of this level.

    1. We expect the product to conform to the following: approximately 90% <60 μm and 10% <5 μm with an average particle size of 15 μm.

There is a fairly large variance in activity reported by the manufacturer on this material (from less than 50 ml/min to more than 100 ml/min).  Activity is not a specification but reported on the Certification of Analysis for further information.  Activity is measured by the hydrogen reduction of nitrobenzene.
