Changes to Merck Life Science, Millipore and Sigma-Aldrich Legal Entities: Impacts on Web Shop and Ordering

On July 1, 2020, the commercial business of Merck Life Science in the UK is being restructured. This business is currently operated by three legal entities, Merck Chemicals Limited, Millipore (UK) Limited, and Sigma-Aldrich Company Limited.

The commercial business will be consolidated into Merck Chemicals Limited, which will at the same time be renamed to Merck Life Science UK Limited.

You will benefit from this development since Merck will serve the customers of its Life Science business in the UK (and Ireland, to the extent Merck currently serves Irish customers from UK legal entities) via one legal entity, as opposed to three entities, none of which could provide customers with access to the entire Merck Life Science portfolio.

Due to the consolidation of the commercial business there will be changes to some of our contact and ordering details.

eCommerce Updates

Coinciding with the business consolidation, there will be changes occurring to our websites and online ordering routes.

Following the legal entity consolidation, all Merck Life Science eCommerce will be conducted through sigmaaldrich.com. The merckmillipore.com website will still be available as an informational site providing access to product information, safety and quality documents, including Emprove^® dossiers, until everything is fully accessible directly through sigmaaldrich.com

The sigmaaldrich.com website will display real-time, customer-specific pricing for all products, including products previously ordered via merckmillipore.com.

As part of the transition, web credentials (login and/or password) may change for some users:

• If you already place orders via sigmaaldrich.com, you can continue to use your sigmaaldrich.com login details and password without change.
• If you only place orders via merckmillipore.com, you will able to use the same login details (usually your email address) on sigmaaldrich.com but you will need to update your password as we cannot migrate the encrypted password from one site to the other.

Performance Materials Business

Please note that the Merck Performance Materials business in the UK, which focuses on delivering pigments and surface solutions for the automotive, industrial, and cosmetics industries and currently is part of the Merck Chemicals Limited legal entity, will transfer to a new legal entity named Merck Performance Materials Limited as of, July 1, 2020.
