Each gene is represented by multiple vector constructs targeting different regions of the gene sequence. Each shRNA is cloned into the pLKO.1 lentiviral vector and each construct is sequence verified to ensure a match to the target gene. The individual clones are available in frozen bacterial glycerol stock format, purified plasmid DNA format, or lentiviral transduction particle format.
TRC2 contains over 127,000 clones targeting over 15,000 human genes and almost 13,000 mouse genes. There are more than 4,000 genes covered exclusively in TRC2! The TRC2 vector includes the WPRE (Woodchuck Posttranscriptional Regulatory Element), which has been shown in literature to promote RNA processing and enhance nuclear export of viral and shRNA RNA. This may lead to increased viral titers from packaging cells, and enhanced expression of the shRNA in target cells. Each shRNA is cloned into the TRC2-pLKO lentiviral vector and each construct is sequence verified to ensure a match to the target gene. TRC2 clones are also available in frozen backterial glycerol stock format, purified plasmid DNA format, or lentiviral transduction particle format.

Locate shRNA clones for your specific gene of interest. To search for shRNA targets, enter the gene name, symbol, alternate symbol, homologs, accession number, RefSeq, TRC number or gene ID number in the search box and look for shRNA links in the results. Genes with the red cube "validated" symbol designate validated clones that have been shown to have knockdown efficiencies of 70% or greater at the mRNA level in one or more cell lines.
We guarantee upon purchase of the defined clone set, quantity on the shRNA detail page for your gene of interest (this varies, but is typically 5 clones), that at least one of those clones for a gene should yield greater than 70% knockdown.
