应用

MAX相属于三元碳化物和氮化物家族,共享类似层状六边形晶体结构。它们因其化学式而得此命名。M(n+1)AXn —其中,n = 1、2或3,其中M为前过渡金属;A为来自IIIA或IVA的元素;X为碳和/或氮类材料。MAX相结合陶瓷和金属的优良特性,在核反应堆中具有潜在的应用前景。Ti3AlC2和Ti2AlC的比活度与SiC相似,并且经过10至60年的所有三次活化时间的衰减后,在快谱和热谱中比合金617的活性都低三个数量级。

MAX相是合成高导电性二维纳米材料MXene的重要前体。Mxene通过从MAX相中选择性浸蚀A元素而制成。它将过渡金属碳化物的金属导电性与其羟基或氧封端表面的亲水性相结合。Ti3AlC2 MAX相是MXene(Ti3C2Tx)最常用的MAX相之一。
