Biochem/physiol Actions

ST6 (alpha-N-acetyl-neuraminyl-2,3-beta-galactosyl-1,3)-N-acetylgalactosaminide alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 4 (ST6GALNAC4) catalyzes the transfer of sialic acids from CMP-sialic acid to glycoproteins. It is found both in association with Golgi complex and in the soluble form. This protein is also involved in the synthesis of GD1A ganglioside from GM1B.
