Description

General description

Barium chloride (BaCl₂) is a hygroscopic water soluble ionic compound that can be found naturally as witherite. It can be also prepared from barium hydroxide or barium carbonate.

Application

BaCl₂ can be industrially used in the synthesis of pigment and the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals. It can also be used in laboratory application in the testing of sulfate ions.
