Application

The modified Semi-Solid Rappaport Vassiliadis medium is formulated according De Smedt and et al. for enrichment of Salmonellae.

Preparation Note

Suspend 31.6 g in 1000 ml distilled water. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. DO NOT AUTOCLAVE. Cool to 45-50°C and aseptically add 20 mg/L of Novobiocin (Cat. No. 74675). Mix well and pour into sterile petri plates. Keep plates in a fresh place to settle the gel (1 hour minimum) and handle with care because the medium is only semi-solid.

Footnote

We offer two media types: the superior granulated GranuCult® and the cost-efficient powdered NutriSelect® culture media, depending on your needs.
The designations basic, plus, or prime are added to indicate the quality control level, from basic quality control to standard QC plus to prime for full regulatory compliance.
