Application

Octadecylamine (ODA) is used:
  • To induce hydrophobicity in nanodiamond (ND) powders.[1]
  • In the surface modification of graphite and fullerenes.[2][3]
  • As a dual source of carbon and nitrogen in the synthesis of N-doped carbon nanotubes (CNTs).[4]
  • To synthesize a single-chain cationic surfactant, bis(amidoethylcarbamoylethyl) octadecylamine.[5]
