General description

Bovine fibrillar collagen solution is a highly concentrated (65 mg/mL) Type I collagen solution that can easily be diluted as needed with media or buffer solutions. This material features high purity (purification through pepsin treatment) which offers reduced antigenicity with the removal of possible contaminants and is provided at neutral pH (pH 7.0). In vivo, fibrillar collagen degrades in approximately 30 days.

Application

Collagen is a major structural protein that provides structure and strength to tissues in the body. Due to its biocompatibility, biodegradability, and high abundance, collagen has been utilized for many applications in biomedical research. Applications of fibrillar collagen may include:

• Development of collagen-based tissues for skin replacement, bone substitutes, and to generate artificial blood vessels and valves.
