General description

DODMA (1,2-dioleyloxy-3-dimethylaminopropane) is an ionizable cationic lipid. DODMA possesses one double bond in each hydrocarbon tail with tertiary amine group and has a pKa of 7.0.

Application

DODMA is suitable for use in the preparation of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs).

Biochem/physiol Actions

DODMA (1,2-dioleyloxy-3-dimethylaminopropane) is used in the preparation of cationic liposomes and lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). LNPs with DODMA has low or neutral zeta potential. DODMA is efficient in encapsulating nucleic acid during synthesis by reducing the physiological pH. DODMA is implicated in gene therapy.
