How does the sensitivity of 815 pg/mL convert to mIU/mL?
1 answer-
We have not tested and determined a conversion factor for this assay. The international unit (IU) for EPO has been defined by WHO based on in vivo activity in model animals. Currently, recombinant human EPO produced by CHO cells (1650 IU in approximately 11 μg of epoetin-α) is distributed in ampoules as the third WHO International Standard for the calibration of recombinant DNA-derived EPO activity by bioassay. Our standard of EPO is a recombinant human EPO.
