Target description

Polyribonucleotide nucleotidyltransferase 1, mitochondrial (UniProt: A8TCS8; also known as EC:, 3′-5′ RNA exonuclease OLD35, PNPase old-35, Polynucleotide phosphorylase 1, PNPase 1, Polynucleotide phosphorylase-like protein, PNPT1) is encoded by the PNPT1 (also known as PNPASE) gene (Gene ID: 87178) in human. PNPT1 is a peripheral homotrimer membrane protein that serves as a RNA-binding protein that is implicated in several RNA metabolic processes. It catalyzes the phosphorolysis of single-stranded polyribonucleotides processively in the 3′-to-5′ direction. It is synthesized with a transit peptide (aa 1-45) and is localized to mitochondrial intermembrane region. It is a component of the mitochondrial degradosome (mtEXO) complex with exoribonuclease activity that degrades 3′ overhang double-stranded RNA with a 3′-to-5′ directionality in an ATP-dependent manner. It is reported to regulate the expression of the electron transport chain components at the mRNA and protein levels. PNPT1 is shown to be essential for correct processing and polyadenylation of mitochondrial mRNAs and plays a role as a cytoplasmic RNA import factor that mediates the translocation of small RNA components into the mitochondrial matrix. It is also reported to participate in RNA cell surveillance by cleaning up oxidized RNAs. This ZooMAb recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.

Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.

Storage and Stability

Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
