HEPES sodium salt is essential to prepare HEPES buffer that is commonly used for cell culture and protein applications. It is useful for maintaining homeostasis when working with cells outside of the incubator by balancing CO2. HEPES buffering capacity exceeds most buffers, with a pKa of 7.5, making it optimal for maintaining pH in biological systems. In solution, it is non-toxic, zwitterion with a physiological buffering range of pH 6.8 - 8.2. It has a low metal binding capacity and is safe to use in research for metal-binding proteins.

V-domain immunoglobulin (Ig) suppressor of T cell activation (VISTA) is an immune checkpoint protein that inhibits the T cell response against cancer. Similar to PD-1 and CTLA-4, a blockade of VISTA promotes tumor clearance by the immune system. Here, we report a
Autophagosome formation depends on a carefully orchestrated interplay between membrane-associated protein complexes. Initiation of macroautophagy/autophagy is mediated by the ULK1 (unc-51 like autophagy activating kinase 1) protein kinase complex and the autophagy-specific class III phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase complex I (PtdIns3K-C1). The
When lysozyme is dissolved in a neutral HEPES buffer solution (pH = 7.4) with 0.001-0.050 M TCEP added, a fast phase transition process occurs and the resulting novel fiber-like hierarchical supramolecular assemblies made by primary spherical-particle aggregation can function as a "superglue"
NkBgl, a β-glucosidase from Neotermes koshunensis, is a β-retaining glycosyl hydrolase family 1 enzyme that cleaves β-glucosidic linkages in disaccharide or glucose-substituted molecules. β-Glucosidases have been widely used in several applications. For example, mutagenesis of the attacking nucleophile in β-glucosidase

We developed a novel method for Cu(2+) detection based on the ion promoted oxidation reaction. Chemodosimeter L (weak fluorescence) can be oxidized into 3-benzothiazoly-7-N,N-diethylaminocoumarin (strong green fluorescence, coumarin 6) by Cu(2+) with high selectivity and sensitivity in HEPES (10 mM
Redi-Dri™ prevents hygroscopic powders, such as inorganic salts, from absorbing moisture and forming clumps, leaving the salts free-flowing every time.
