General description
メタノールは、CuO/ZnO/Al2O3触媒存在下、合成ガスから合成できる有機溶媒です。その高いH/C比率、低いスス発生の蛍光、比較的低い改質温度、および室温で液体であることから、燃料電池技術における水素源として理想的です。直接メタノール燃料電池（DMFC）において、メタノールは空気との酸化を受けて電気を生成します。MTO（メタノール-to-オレフィン）プロセスによってメタノールから生成されるオレフィン（エチレンやプロピレン）は、炭化水素燃料を生成するオイルやガスの代わりとなります。
形状選択ゼオライト存在下での、C2-C10ハイドロカーボンへのメタノールの熱化学変換が報告されています。ルテニウム吸着原子によるRu-Pt触媒システムでの酸化が報告されています。

Why on occasion does Product 34860, Methanol, have an unusual odor? Does it affect the product purity or performance?

Industry research has indicated that unusual odors in methanol are a common problem and stem from low - level mercaptans and / or amines found in the natural gas raw materials used in production. Odors from these types of compounds can be noticeable at low part per million (ppm) levels and have not been shown to have any negative impact on product performance at these concentrations.
