1 トリプシン阻害剤ユニット（TIU）は、2 トリプシン単位の活性を 50％減少させ、1 トリプシン単位は、pH 7.8 および 25°Cにおいて、1 分間で 1 μ モルの N-α-ベンゾイル-DL-アルギニンp-ニトロアニリドを加水分解します。他にも一般的に使用される単位として、KIU があります。1 TIU = 1,300 KIU で換算します。
Preparation Note
本製品は、3～8 TIU/mg固体粉末の活性を持った凍結乾燥粉末です。 アプロチニンは、水（＞ 10 mg/mL）やイオン強度の低いバッファーに自由に溶解します。 希釈溶液は濃い溶液よりも不安定になる傾向があり、また溶液の安定性はpHにも依存します。 アプロチニンは変性に対しても比較的安定です - サーモリシンだけが60～80°Cでアプロチニンを分解できることが分かっています。アプロチニンの滅菌は、0.2 μmのフィルター濾過によって可能です。
