高分子量ポリ-γ-グルタミン酸（γ-PGA）はC57BL/6マウスにおける NK 細胞媒介性細胞毒性および INF-γの分泌のレベルを増加させることが判明しました。生分解性γ-PGAのナノ粒子は、抗原送達キャリアとしての使用およびインフルエンザウィルス血球凝集性（HA）ワクチンの送達に関して評価されています。γ-PGAのその他のライフサイエンスへの応用例として、生分解性の繊維やナノファイバーシート、ヒドロゲルおよび不凍剤への使用が挙げられます。

高分子量ポリ-γ-グルタミン酸は、γ-アミノ基とγ-カルボン酸基の間のアミド結合によって結合したグルタミン酸のポリマーです。γ-PGAはバシラス種の発酵によって産生されます。サブユニットは大部分がL-異性体です。
