Application
ZnCl2 mayalso be used as a catalyst for the Knoevenagel condensation of aromatic aldehydes with substituted acetonitriles to form carbonyl-methylene products under solvent-free conditions.[2] The activation of sugar cane bagasse with zinc chloride forms activated carbons for use as supercapacitor electrodes.[4]

In what solvent we can dissolve Zinc chloride (Cat No. 208086)

Zinc chloride is highly soluble in water. According to the product's SDS, it should go into water up to a concentration of 851 g/L. It is also slightly soluble in acetone and ethanol, but concentrations would need to be determined empirically.

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.
