Description

General description

L-Ascorbic acid, an organic acid, is found abundantly in citrus fruits. It is generally used as an antioxidant and pH adjuster in the cosmetic industry. L-AA is also used as a preservative and nutrient supplement in foods.

Application

L-Ascorbic acid may be used as a reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations, fruits and vegetables, wines and biological samples by chromatography and spectrophotometry techniques.
