Polyethylene Glycol 3350 is an addition polymer of ethylene oxide and water, represented by the formula H(OCH2CH2)nOH, in which n represents the average number of oxyethylene groups. The apparent weight-average molecular weight is 3015–3685 g/mol (Da).

Application

It is intended to be used as a USP reference standard in specified quality tests and assays.
Also used to prepare standard solutions for the assay and identification tests using liquid chromatography (LC) as described in the following United States Pharmacopeia (USP) monographs:
  • Polyethylene Glycol 3350
  • Polyethylene Glycol 3350 and Electrolytes for Oral Solution
