Descripción general

Acrylic acid (AAc) is a colorless, unsaturated carboxylic acid. It is miscible in water and alcohol. It often finds application as an chemical intermediate.[1]

Aplicación

AAc is used in preparing monodispersed poly (N-isopropylacryamide) (PNIPAM)/AAc microgels.[2] AAc has been plasma-deposited on surfaces for cell culture applications.[3] Surface modification of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) films via UV-induced graft copolymerization with AAc has been reported.[4] AAc is used primarily as an intermediate in the production of acrylates.[1]
