General description

La 3,3′,5,5′-tetrametilbencidina es un colorante sensible a la peroxidasa. Es una mejor alternativa a la siringaldacina para la determinación del cloro en el agua debido a su estabilidad y la ausencia de interferencia de los iones calcio y magnesio.

Application

La 3,3′,5,5′-tetrametilbencidina (TMB) es un sustituto no carcinógeno (prueba de Ames negativa) de la bencina, adecuada como sustrato de la peroxidasa para procedimientos ELISA. Este sustrato rinde un producto final soluble que es de color azul claro y puede leerse espectrofotométricamente a 370 o 620-650 nm. La reacción de la TMB puede detenerse con H2SO4 2 M (que produce un color amarillo) y leerse a 450 nm. Reactivo sensible y específico para la detección de sangre, análisis de la hemoglobina, análisis de peroxidasa.
