1-pentadecanoyl-2-oleoyl(d7)-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine (sodium salt) is a is a deuterated phospholipid. The lipid comprises phosphatidylserine attached to pentadecanoic acid and oleic acid. Oleic acid harbors the deuterium ions. Phosphatidylserine is a component of inner cell membrane and is present in metabolically active sites. It is enriched in myelin sheath and is an acidic phospholipid.
This deuterium labeled lipid is also available in a formulation of multiple lipid standards. The SPLASH® LIPIDOMIX® Standard includes all of the major lipid classes at ratios relative to human plasma, allowing one easy internal standard solution to be added to every sample.
Aplicación
15:0-18:1-d7-PS (1-pentadecanoyl-2-oleoyl(d7)-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine (sodium salt)) has been used:
- as a component of extraction solvent for lipid isolation from biological samples
- as an internal standard to spike cell lysate and to quantify lipid species using fourier transform mass spectrometry (FTMS) analysis
- as an internal standard to spike liver homogenate to quantify lipids by shotgun-electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (ESI-MS)

Phosphatidylserine (PS) coordinates many regulatory functions and is a modulator of enzymes, channels and various receptors. PS supplementation provides relief from exercise induced stress. PS is essential for neurotransmission, prevents nerve cell deterioration and supports cognitive functionality.
