Aplicación

Recomendado para la manipulación de embriones de ratón a temperatura ambiente. Los medios M2 y M16 son medios comunes para el cultivo in vitro de embriones en fase de preimplantación. Es una disolución de bicarbonato de Krebs-Ringer modificada, que es muy similar al medio de Whitten. El M16 contiene piruvato y lactato como fuentes de energía, ya que los embriones preimplantados no utilizan la glucosa de forma eficiente.

El medio M2 es una modificación adicional del M16 que sustituye al tampón HEPES en lugar de parte del bicarbonato. El M2 se utiliza para recoger y manipular embriones durante períodos prolongados fuera de una incubadora de CO2.

Calidad

La presencia de partículas en la disolución no afectará al rendimiento del producto.

Reconstitución

Enriquecer con 0,06 g/l de bencipenicilina de potasio y 0,05 g/l de sulfato de estreptomicina.

Nota de análisis

Se ha probado la capacidad de este producto para sustentar el desarrollo de embriones unicelulares de ratón a blastocistos expandidos. El requisito mínimo es un 80 % de desarrollo a blastocisto.
