General description

Calcium is a highly reactive and non-toxic metal often prepared by the aluminothermal or electrolysis methods. Calcium metal granules with a purity of 99% are a valuable material used in several industrial and academic applications. The granules are made from high-quality calcium and are produced under strict manufacturing standards to ensure their purity and quality. The granular form allows for easier handling and storage than a powder, making it convenient for use in various applications.

Application

Our 99% pure calcium metal granules are widely used as a reducing agent in the manufacturing of various metals, including uranium and thorium. They are also an essential component in the production of aluminum alloys that are commonly used in the aerospace and automotive industries. These calcium metal granules are also used in the desulfurization of steel and as a deoxidizer in the production of various metals. Furthermore, our calcium metal granules are extensively used in organic synthesis to reduce various functional groups, such as aldehydes, ketones, esters, and nitriles, to their corresponding alcohols. The metal is also utilized in the preparation of Grignard reagents, which serve as crucial intermediates in organic synthesis.
Precursor to Ca8Al3 and Ca13Al14; intermetallics with new metallic Zintl phases.7

Features and Benefits

  • Quality assured - made from high-quality raw materials and produced under strict manufacturing standards to ensure consistent performance.
  • Easier to handle and store - in comparison to powder, the granular form ensures higher stability during storage and handling of materials.
