Copper(I) bromide (CuBr) is an inorganic salt commonly used as a catalyst or a source of Cu(I) in organic synthesis.

Application

Copper(I) bromide has been used in:

• The synthesis of tertiary alkyl amines via photoinduced copper catalysed nucelophilic substitution
• The synthesis of complex secondary amines via photoredox-catalyzed four component click reactions
• The synthesis of mechanophore polymers that rupture (C-C) via heterolytic, homolytic and concerted pathways
• The intramolecular annulation of diaryl cyclic chloranes and bromanes
