Application

L-Isoleucine is an essential amino acid. It can be biosynthesized from threonine or through fermentation of carbohydrates. The amino acid L-isoleucine is an isomer of L-Leucine, differing in the position of the side chain. It is also considered to be a branched chain amino acid, along with L-Leucine and L-Valine, which are sources of fuel and/or transport during cell development. It is used as a cell culture media component in the commercial biomanufacture of therapeutic recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies.

Long-term physical inactivity seems to cause many health problems. We studied whether persistent physical activity compared with inactivity has a global effect on serum metabolome toward reduced cardiometabolic disease risk. Sixteen same-sex twin pairs (mean age, 60 years) were selected

BCAAs (leucine, isoleucine, and valine), particularly leucine, have anabolic effects on protein metabolism by increasing the rate of protein synthesis and decreasing the rate of protein degradation in resting human muscle. Also, during recovery from endurance exercise, BCAAs were found

P4-ATPases (flippases) translocate specific phospholipids such as phosphatidylserine from the exoplasmic leaflet of the cell membrane to the cytosolic leaflet, upholding an essential membrane asymmetry. The mechanism of flipping this giant substrate has remained an enigma. We have investigated the
