General description

Sodium L-lactate is the sodium salt of L-lactic acid and is widely utilized as a chiral building block in organic synthesis for the preparation of various chiral compounds. It can also be used as a mild reducing agent in synthetic chemistry applications.

Application

Sodium L-lactate can be used as a chiral building block to prepare chiral pyrrolidine intermediate, which is further used to synthesize chiral pyrrolidinium ionic liquids. It also serves as a mild reducing agent in the selective reduction of CuO into Cu nanorods.
