Application

A versatile solid medium for the differentiation of Eschericha coli and Aerobacter aerogenes, for identifcation of Candida albicans and for the identification of coagulase-positive Staphylococci.

Other Notes

Recommended by the American Public Health Association (APHA) and the United States Pharmacopeia (USP)[1][2][3]; Compendium of Methods for the Microbiological Examination of Foods; Enumeration of E. coli from lake water.[4]
We offer two media types: the superior granulated GranuCult® and the cost-efficient powdered NutriSelect® culture media, depending on your needs.
The designations basic, plus, or prime are added to indicate the quality control level, from basic quality control to standard QC plus to prime for full regulatory compliance.

Preparation Note

Suspend 37.5 g in 1 litre of distilled water. Bring to the boil to dissolve completely, sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes. Cool to 60°C and shake the medium in order to oxidize the methylene blue and to suspend the precipitate.
